About The Project
Solano County Library, an esteemed historic building with ties to the local Native American Patwin Tribe, required a landscape design that honored its heritage while serving the community. MTWgroup was tasked with creating a landscape plan that seamlessly integrated with both the library and the adjacent Solano County Office Building, sharing a vibrant public plaza.
A distinctive feature of the design was the incorporation of the existing Native American statue into the landscaping. This was achieved by carefully integrating native plantings and surrounding the statue with thoughtful, culturally resonant landscape elements.
The plan also included a rose garden, adding a touch of elegance and beauty to the space.
An event center was designed to accommodate community gatherings, further enhancing the facility's role as a community hub.
Additionally, the existing water feature was framed by lush lawn areas and carefully chosen plants, creating a serene environment for visitors to enjoy. The landscape design complements these features, fostering a welcoming and harmonious atmosphere while celebrating the site’s cultural, historical and community important.
