About The Project

As part of The Ranch housing development, MTWgroup was tasked with designing a new park that would create a welcoming entrance to the community. The project presented several challenges in order to meet the objectives of both the developer and the City of Rancho Cordova.

A key feature of the park is its strategic connection to both the adjacent housing village and the city sidewalk. This was a significant issue which posed a unique challenge due to the three to four foot difference in site elevation. MTWgroup developed an innovative solution that seamlessly links the park to the sidewalk, ensuring easy access for all to the park amenities.

MTWgroup carefully crafted the park's layout to include landscape walls, lawn areas, picnic spots, and seating areas with benches, creating inviting spaces for daily use and community gatherings. The thoughtful design also incorporates a series of stairs and sloped walkways throughout the site to ensure full accessibility compliance.

The park also features a tower monument with an 'L'-shaped trellis structure and lighted sign, serving as a visual entrance landmark for the development. MTWgroup's comprehensive scope of work included meticulous planning, landscape design, grading and drainage plans, irrigation system design, site lighting, and the selection of all planting materials, ensuring the park is both beautiful and sustainable.
