District Education Center
Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District
Roseville, CA
About The Project
The Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District needed a new primary business center for the District but also a facility that would serve as a community center and staff training facility. The landscape design for the project, undertaken by MTWgroup, addressed a range of site and landscape opportunities that were both innovative and responsive to the needs of the facility.
A key aspect of the design was the incorporation of various outdoor features to support the facility's dual purpose of serving district employees and hosting community events. The landscape plan includes natural areas with strategically placed benches, providing employees with serene spaces for breaks amidst the greenery. An outdoor plaza was also designed to accommodate community events, fostering a vibrant space for gatherings
and activities.
Preservation of the native oak trees was a critical component of the project. MTWgroup meticulously selected context-sensitive plants to complement the existing landscape and enhance the natural beauty of the site while safeguarding the heritage oak trees.
Through thoughtful design and careful plant selection, MTWgroup successfully created an environment that supports both the daily needs of district employees and the broader community, enriching the facility's functionality and aesthetic appeal while supporting the rich agricultural history of the area.
