About The Project

The Greer Elementary School modernization project was undertaken to refurbish the existing campus while keeping it operational throughout the construction phases. The project was executed in multiple increments to ensure minimal disruption to the school’s daily activities. In the initial phase, an adjacent park was utilized to construct a new multipurpose room (MPR), administration building, and student housing. Following this, the existing wings of the campus were modernized. MTWgroup provided phased landscape and irrigation plans, which allowed
for the build of each component in alignment with the construction schedule.

The newly modernized campus features 12 classrooms distributed across three wings. The landscape design was meticulously crafted to enhance student interaction with the environment. Key elements include learning spaces situated between the wings, an outdoor garden designed to support the science curriculum, and playfields that accommodate both structured and informal play.

The landscape concept seamlessly integrates natural elements, such as stone seating areas, playground bark and fiber, while incorporating impervious materials to balance functionality and aesthetics. All outdoor spaces are designed to be fully ADA accessible, ensuring inclusivity and ease of use for all students. Through this thoughtful and incremental approach, the project not only revitalized the campus but also enriched the educational experience with engaging and accessible outdoor environments.
